A medical team from Arogya Sena and activists from the Socialist Yuvjan Sabha (SYS) reached Uttarakhand to provide relief to areas affected by disasters that have not yet received medical aid. The team is led by Dr. Abhijit Vaidya and consists of doctors, disaster management experts, and volunteers carrying medical equipment and supplies worth 3 lacs rupees. Arogya Sena has 14,000 trained volunteers across 7 states who have provided medical treatment to over 55,000 patients during various disasters over the past 19 years without government assistance.

Arogya Sena's Disaster Management Medical Team, along
with SYS activists, reached Uttarakhand and have started
relief work from Musoorie towards Uttarkashi
Arogya Sena's medical team along with activists of Socialist Yuvjan Sabha
(SYS) reached Uttarakhand yesterday to provide medical aid to the people of
disaster-hit area around Uttarkashi. The medical relief work extended by the
team is mainly meant to the local affected villages where medical help has
not reached yet.
This team consists of following members:
1. Dr Abhijit Vaidya MD, IPT-Cardiology Cardiologist and Disaster
Medicine expert is leading this team. Dr Vaidya is also National President
of Arogya Sena and SYS
2. Dr Nitin Ketkar Ultrasonologist and Disaster Medicine expert
3. Laxmikant Mundada National Gen Secretary Arogya Sena Trained in
Disaster Management
4. Ashish Ajgaonkar Central Committee Member Arogya Sena Tained in
Diasasster Management
5. Mahendra Waghela Electrical Eng, State Chief, Gujarat Arogya Sena
Trained in Disaster Management
6. Jabbar Sing, Rashtra Seva Dal worker
and 10 local volunteers.
The team is carrying many medical equipments like Digital BP apparatus,
glucometers, peak flow meters, pulse oximeters etc. along with 30 categories
of medicines worth Rs 3 lacs.
This team is supported by Rashtra Seva Dal and Lions Club Pune District
323 and many well wishers.
Arogya Sena has 14000 trained volunteers across 7 states of India and

2. treated 55000 patients with medicines worth 60 lacs in last 19 years during
various disasters till today without any government or international help.
Donations to Arogya Sena in the name of S.M.Joshi Memorial Medical
Association are exempt from IT under 80G.
