UCSB was established in 1944. Freshmen need at least a 4.03 GPA and 1871 SAT score, while transfers need a 3.10 GPA. UCSB is located in a nice area in Santa Barbara and has over 20 club sports teams. The mascot is a Guacho and major programs include astronomy, physics, and various sciences. Sororities and fraternities are involved in intellectual, cultural, and social development on campus.
