Work History
July 2011-Present
Alberta Health Services: Power House Operator at Red Deer Regional Hospital (Casual
Staff).
Worked independently and was responsible for creating a training and qualification
program for powerhouse personnel. The scope of this project was to create and
implement a standardized qualification process for new operators to complete prior
to being put on shift.
Responsible for the daily operation of the process equipment (three D-type volcano
boilers and two 14 cylinder Waukesha natural gas burning cogeneration motors) that
provided heating, electricity, water, and various other utilities essential to the daily
operations of the Red Deer Regional building.
Sept. 2012-Sept. 2015
Red Deer College: Research Ethics Board Member.
Member of the Research Ethics Board responsible for reviewing all research projects
at Red Deer College that involved research on human subjects.
2. Learning the guidelines that dictate what is ethical and non-ethical research.
Attend meetings and develop procedures for the Ethics Board to follow.
Reviewed research project proposals, made recommendations if needed, and
approved applications for any research connected to the Red Deer College involving
human subjects.

Nova Chemicals: Power Engineer and Process Operator,
Duties Include:
Responsible for control room and plant operations of an petrochemical Ethylene
Cracking Facility.
Worked as a member of the operations team responsible for the daily operations and
maintenance activitiesin a manner that ensures worker safety, process integrity, and
protection of equipment are all balanced to maintain safe and steady operation.
Established safe working conditions in area’s that would be immediately dangerous
to life and health. Prepared equipment for maintenance personnel to work on. Issued
work permits to maintenance staff to perform their work safely.
Filled the role of Administrative Leader on an operations crew of 40 people to ensure
daily tasks are attended to and ongoing mandatory training is completed in a timely
manner.
Received extensive training in emergency response, medical first aid, and industrial
firefighting of highly pressurized and explosive hydrocarbons.
July 2000-Feb. 2001
Keyera Energy: Power Engineer and Process Operator
Operated the various boilers, fractionation towers, large industrial compressors,
amine contactors etc. necessary for the processing of raw sour gas.
Responsible for daily management of production rates and loading rates of tank farm
and rail car loading facility for liquefied petroleum gas.
Operated a sulphur Prill Tower on a daily basis.
Responsible for the operation of the conveyor and hopper system that would load the
sulphur prill into rail cars at a rate of hundreds of tonnes every 20 seconds.
