This document is a student project on the Brazilian city of Belo Horizonte, the capital of Minas Gerais. It discusses various characteristics of the city through a question and answer format covering topics like what the city is like, whether it is an interesting place, safety, cleanliness, cost of living, nightlife, weather, attractions, best times to visit, things to do, special purchases, sights not to miss, and local cuisine. The project is authored by students Frederico Dias, Marina, and Paulo Henrique Vieira for their Portuguese class taught by Professor Ariane.

Belo Horizonte is a city
with an area of
approximately 330
km2, has a diverse
geography, with hills
and lowlands, and is at
716 km from Brasilia.
With a population
greater than 2,375,444
inhabitants, being the
sixth most populous
city in Brazil.

3. Is it an interesting place?
It is a very interesting
city, because entices
tourists with its lush
scenery and enormous
potential for culture
and business. Hosts
events of international
importance, especially
as one of the largest
industrial centers in
Latin America.

4. Is it safe?
There isn’t very
safe, because, accor
ding to studies, is
the fifth state
capital’s most
violent in the
country.

5. Is it clean?
Belo Horizonte it is
very clean and it is
between the most
clean cities in the
country.

6. Is it expensive?
It is in the 7th
place among the
capitals with the
highest living
cost.

There are
nightclubs, bars, pu
bs, cafes, concert
halls and nightclubs.
In Belo Horizonte
we find erudite and
sophisticated
environments, as
well as, a restless
night, with great
sound, something
rustic and popular.

Although the
characteristics of its
average altitude of
about 858 meters
above sea level, the
city has average
temperatures above
18 C in the coldest
month, and above
22 C in the warmest
month.

Yes, we do. We love
Belo Horizonte
because its full of
attractions for all
taste.

should we see there?
You should go to the
Palace of Arts, it is
the largest
production center,
training and cultural
diffusion of Minas
Gerais and is one of
the largest in Latin
America.

11. What’s a good time to visit?
The best time to
go there is at the
time of the Popo
Rock
Brazil, which is a
pop festival that
takes place every
year in the city.

12. What time of year should you go
there?
Surely the Best time
to go is between
June to September,
which is cheaper like
tickets, lodging and
tours there.

13. Things that you ean do there?
You can go out to
bars, nigthclub, and
the Museum of Art
Pampulha that is
wonderful.

14. Can you buy anything special?
Yes, we can buy
religious
items, ethnic
foods and varied
crafts.

shouldn’t a visitor miss?
Who goes to BH can
not let go of the
Pampulha Lagoon,
Palace of Arts and also
do not forget to go to
the stadium of the
legume, there are
some of the most visit
tourist attractions in
Belo Horizonte.

special food can you eat ?

has in the
kitchen as a
main dish of
pork, sausages,
bacon, chicken
meat, dried
meat and much
more. Who goes
there can not fail
to try the cheese
bread
