Toyota is planning to develop a moon buggy that will be launched to the moon by 2029 for lunar exploration in 2030. The fuel-cell electric powered vehicle will be 20 feet long, 17 feet wide, and have a 140 square foot cabin large enough for two astronauts. With solar power and a fuel cell, the moon buggy is expected to have a range of 6,200 miles on a single charge. Toyota is working with Japan's space agency JAXA on the project.
