Whether you are taking photographs with a
top-of-the-line camera or a more basic
model, there are a number of tips to keep
in mind to achieve quality results.

3.  First, take as many pictures as possible,
especially when using a digital camera. Not
only does it give the photographer many
choices when it comes time to present a
finished product, but taking lots of pictures also
increases the likelihood of capturing a perfect,
unplanned moment.
Second, work to capture subjects' eye level,
but not necessarily their eye contact. While it
may be tempting to fill roll after virtual roll with
subjects making direct eye contact with the
camera, that can result in "staring" pictures that
also seem too similar to each other.

4.  Instead, mix it up by taking pictures at
subjects' eye level, regardless of where they
are looking, to give your photographs a
personal, engaging feel.
Finally, resist the urge to use a zoom lens.
Instead, get physically close to your subject
for close-up shots. Doing so with warmth
and respect encourages subjects to open
up and share their unique selves with the
camera in a way that would not happen
were the photographer shooting from far
away.
