2. Lake Baikal, in eastern Siberia, is a miracle
of nature. It's the deepest lake on Earth
and it contains more water than all the
Great Lakes of America put together.
3. More than 300 rivers flow into Lake Baikal and
only one river, the Angara, flows
outwards. By the way, if the lake
was suddenly no longer be fed with the
water from rivers, and the Angara
continued to flow, it would take 400 years
to all the water gone from the lake.
7. Lake Baikal is the habitat of many unique
and endemic plants and animals. For
example, there are about 27 species of fish
which exist only in these waters.
