Camp Nageela Midwest runs a specialty scuba diving academy where campers aged 10 and older can receive PADI Open Water Scuba Certification, valid for life worldwide, through training in the camp's pool and lake under a certified dive school. Younger campers can earn junior certifications. The additional $500 fee covers rentals, certifications, and allows participants to still take part in normal camp activities and keep their snorkel and mask.

as a board member for Camp Nageela
Midwest, which runs a specialty scuba
academy in addition to its normal camp
programs. Campers aged 10 and older can
sign up to receive PADI Open Water Scuba
Certification. The certification is valid for life
and is recognized around the world.
Training takes place at Camp Nageela under
the supervision of a certified dive school. The
course begins with training in the pool and
culminates in an open-water test in the camp’s
lake.

3.  Junior certifications are available to
campers who complete the course but do
not pass the open-water test.
To take part in the scuba academy,
campers must pay an additional $500,
which covers the cost of rentals and
certifications. Participants in the scuba
academy still take part in normal camp
activities when not taking scuba classes.
They also receive a snorkel and mask to
keep.
