Good Morning and thank you all for being here – Oakhill and the Oakhill ECD team lead by Caroline Payton deserve a huge round of applause for the significant amount of work that they have done in putting together a truly powerful programme covering a wide spectrum of key areas pertinent to this the most important and most undervalued sector of education. Without this sector education would start several years too late to ensure the child reaching their full potential in all spheres of development.
The Ripple effect is the result of a simple but powerful act – the dropping of a pebble into a pool of still water. We, as ECD educators are the individuals that initiate many of those all important ripples emmanating ever outward to an undefined and often unknown destination somewhere in the future. We need to ensure that
Look at the phenominal work you do, understand and acknowledge that the work you all to is transformational – without it this period is the most rapid and critical brain development would not be used to full effect – Up to 90% of brain development takes place in the first 8 yrs of life and the last 10 percent
