We highly recommend The Princess of Wales, a newly refurbished local pub in Blackheath.
The evening was our pleasure. They have a great selection of beers on tap including the likes
of Peroni as well as classic bitters like London Pale Ale and Hoegaarden. It had a busy,
friendly atmosphere buzzing with the electric sounds of people having a good night out.
The service was quick and easy, at the peak of the night the bar was three people deep, but
still the elegantly dressed staff managed to keep customers coming back for more.
It was a lovely place to be with friends. Great big comfy sofas, buzzing atmosphere and a
brilliant layout. The main bar hummed with all kinds of people, and then the pub curves
around to a nice little outdoor patio area.
I was happy with the new refurbishments. The Princess of Wales has always been a solid
pub around Blackheath but now it is a much sharper establishment than before.
After whetting my whistle on a few different brands I stuck with a tall long Peroni. The
courteous and polite staff made all the difference and the large open plan space meant our
party could all interact comfortably together. The food was great too! Dogs are allowed.
It was a fun place to be. As the evening became night, the crowd gradually thinned out but
the warm feeling remained. What was the most surprising thing? In a green location, a
stone’s throw from the town centre- it was a winner.
