Archaeologists have discovered a series of ancient underground chambers near the Giza pyramids containing a large collection of gold coins and artifacts from the Ptolemaic era. Among the treasures found were gold coins depicting the faces of Ptolemy IV and Ptolemy V, rare gold necklaces and bracelets, and a collection of bronze tools and pottery dating back over 2,000 years. The discovery provides new insights into trade and commerce from the era when Egypt was ruled by Greek Ptolemaic kings.
