Blind-Spectrum Non-uniform Sampling and its Application in Wideband Spectrum ...mravendi
This document proposes a method for blind-spectrum non-uniform sampling and its application in wideband spectrum sensing. It introduces a blind spectrum signal model and discusses parameters for the sampling method including the number of active bands (N), maximum frequency (fmax), and sampling parameters like the number of samples (L) and sampling pattern (C). It then describes two approaches for spectral recovery from the non-uniform samples using subspace and nonlinear least squares methods. Simulation results demonstrate the method's ability to sense and reconstruct multi-band signals from a reduced set of samples. The document proposes applying this sampling approach to wideband spectrum sensing to lower the sampling rate requirement compared to traditional methods.
CRFS provides high performance cost-effective systems for collecting, analysing and managing massive spectrum data sets, enabling users to ‘see through the noise’, make sense of their spectral environment and make better decisions. Multi-user multi-mission capability is key to the RFeye philosophy, underpinning the entire product range and allowing the same spectrum monitoring assets to be deployed for diverse applications. CRFS provides a comprehensive range of RFeye spectrum monitoring hardware and software systems at various price and performance levels. All our products are designed, engineered and manufactured to exacting standards for robust high performance in the field.
Hands-On Lab: Leverage CA Spectrum® Monitoring for Wireless LAN Controllers a...CA Technologies
This document discusses how to leverage CA Spectrum monitoring for wireless LAN controllers and access points. It provides an overview of using CA Spectrum to discover, manage, and monitor Wi-Fi infrastructure. The hands-on lab session will demonstrate discovering wireless controllers and access points, viewing them in CA Spectrum, setting thresholds to monitor metrics, and viewing alarms for threshold violations. The goal is to help NOC engineers effectively manage availability and resolve issues for wireless networks.

7. Expert Opinion
7.1 Magnus McEwen-King, CEO, QinetiQ OptaSense
QinetiQ OptaSense is a fully owned subsidiary of QinetiQ Group plc, headquartered in
Farnborough, Hampshire, UK. QinetiQ OptaSense provides acoustic sensing systems for a range
of global industries and verticals, ranging from security and border control to pipeline infrastructure
security and the oil and gas industry.
For this interview, Visiongain interviewed Mr Magnus McEwen-King, CEO, in October 2013; we
thank him for his involvement.
7.1.1 Background and Role with OptaSense
Visiongain: Please could you describe your background and role with OptaSense?
McEwen-King: I’m the CEO and one of the founders of OptaSense within the QinetiQ Group. We
started this back in September 2007 so we’ve now been in business for six years. For the first
couple of years, we were a handful of people, the major growth in employees (from a starting point
of 3 to 163 today) has happened in the last four years.
7.1.2 How Does OptaSense’s Business Relationship With QinetiQ plc
Function?
Visiongain: How strong is your overall relationship with QinetiQ? Do you have a separate sales
team or do you profit from this business relationship?
McEwen-King: OptaSense is a one hundred per cent owned subsidiary of the QinetiQ Group but
is run as an autonomous entity. We draw on technical skill set or QinetiQ and the
corporate/financial credibility of a FTSE 250 listed company. The core part of the QinetiQ Group is
focused on the defence industry where as OptaSense is exploring international Oil & Gas and
security markets.
I run the OptaSense Group on a worldwide basis and report directly to the Group CEO. We have
an excellent working relationship with QinetiQ Group and jointly pursue defence & security sales
opportunities e.g. border security applications. We do however have a dedicated sales force
pursuing international oil and gas related opportunities e.g. pipeline security in Iraq.

8. Leading Companies in the Homeland Security Market
This chapter details ten of the leading companies within the homeland security sector. Due to the
wide-ranging nature of products offered within this market, this selection should in no way be
considered conclusive and is representative of a selection made based on companies which
occupy a leading niche in the sector, but who may not necessarily encompass the entire spectrum
of HLS solutions.
