The Guadalquivir River, known historically as Tartessos by the Greeks and Betis by the Romans, is 666 km long and flows entirely through Andalusia. It traverses the provinces of Jaén, Córdoba, Seville, and Cádiz, with significant tributaries like the Genil River, and is home to various fish species. The river's waters empty into the Atlantic Ocean at Sanlúcar de Barrameda.
