The Cord Flex’s New Clamp By: Assunta DePau and Diane Kohlin
Issues with the Current Clamp The fastener piece is not trustworthy. When using the fastener, it slides off and the test process is interrupted. When the product must be held at a different angle (parallel or perpendicular), a new clamp must be used. Time is wasted because engineers must constantly watch the flex test in case the clamp drops the object. Money is wasted because new clamps must be made for each new product.
The The Current How the product was held. #1 Problem The need to make a new part each time.
Our proposed clamp
How it Works Our clamp holds products in place from all four sides. The clamps are adjustable by screwing in a bolt. Nuts secure the bolts in place by attaching to each side of the bolts.
