This document is a technical report from the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University that provides data and analysis on the Texas housing market in December 2016. It finds that while the Texas economy expanded in December, indicators suggest a slowdown in residential construction. Housing supply remained constrained due to limited lot inventory and construction labor shortages. Housing demand weathered rising mortgage rates in December, though sales returned to more modest levels after a strong November. Home prices continued to appreciate across Texas metros as demand overtook modest supply increases.

Despite the worldwide record of FDI inflows experienced lately, inflows to SIDS were among the lowest, acquiring only 1.2% of the total share of developing countries. The role FDI has in SIDS is an issue hardly discussed in the economics literature given the low absolute amount of capital involved. The smallness and vulnerabilities of SIDS make it difficult for them to attract FDI even though FDI is a major driver of economic growth in these islands. This dissertation is aimed at analysing the effect foreign direct investment (FDI) has on economic growth of small island developing states (SIDS) and Mauritius. Taking a sample of 24 SIDS to econometrically assess the impact of FDI on economic growth, panel data regression is used with the random effect model for the period 1980-2010. The result indicates that FDI, GCF, trade openness, inflation and infrastructure are all statistically significant. Even though many SIDS were not taken into consideration due to data constraints, our results are consistent with the empirical finding available for SIDS such as Armstrong et al., (1998); Armstrong & Read, (1998a); Armstrong & Read, (2002); Read (2002).For Mauritius, the ARDL-ECM approach is used and it has been found that GCF only has short-run significance and not long-run. This dissertation also presents extensive examination of theoretical and empirical evidence on the factors influencing FDI and economic growth. Most studies conclude that FDI is conducive to growth.

Objective: To determine the efficacy of psychotherapy interventions for reducing suicidal attempts (SA) and non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI).
Methods: Meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing psychotherapy interventions and treatment as usual (TAU; including also enhanced usual care, psychotropic treatment alone, cognitive remediation, short-term problem-oriented approach, supportive relationship treatment, community treatment by non-behavioral psychotherapy experts, emergency care enhanced by provider education, no treatment) for SA/NSSI. RCTs were extracted from MEDLINE, EMBASE, PsycINFO and Cochrane Library and analyzed using the Cochrane Collaboration Review Manager Software and Comprehensive Meta-analysis.
Results: In the 32 included RCTs, 4114 patients were randomly assigned to receive psychotherapy (n 1⁄4 2106) or TAU (n 1⁄4 2008). Patients who received psychotherapy were less likely to attempt suicide during the follow-up. The pooled risk difference for SA was 0.08 (95% confidence intervals 1⁄4 0.04 to 0.11). The absolute risk reduction was 6.59% (psychotherapy: 9.12%; TAU: 15.71%), yielding an esti- mated number needed to treat of 15. Sensitivity analyses showed that psychotherapy was effective for SA mainly in adults, outpatients, patients with borderline personality disorder, previously and non- previously suicidal patients (heterogeneous variable that included past history of SA, NSSI, deliberate self-harm, imminent suicidal risk or suicidal ideation), long- and short-term therapies, TAU only as a control condition, and mentalization-based treatment (MBT). No evidence of efficacy was found for NSSI, with the exception of MBT. Between-study heterogeneity and publication bias were detected. In the presence of publication bias, the Duval and Tweedie's “trim and fill” method was applied.
Conclusion: Psychotherapy seems to be effective for SA treatment. However, trials with lower risk of bias, more homogeneous outcome measures and longer follow-up are needed.

In all, 2000 establishments in retail and wholesale markets, transport, real estate and storage and warehousing were surveyed. Small and medium scale cogeneration systems (CHP)Leonardo ENERGY
Cogeneration offers a set of benefits. It is primarily an energy efficient technology delivering energy close-to-site, with minimal transport losses and therefore significant cost savings. It also offers fuel flexibility and may lead to limiting polluting emissions through improved efficiency.
CHP units have a wide application range. They can be used in the industry, in waste-water treatment plants through anaerobic digestion, for district heating and cooling, and in entire buildings or single dwellings through micro-CHP. The heat produced by commercial-scale CHP units is usually recovered via heat exchangers and can be used for space and water heating in many different applications. Thermal storage may improve the ability to match heat peak demand. Cogeneration may also include cooling processes and even so-called ‘Tri-generation’ providing electricity, heating and cooling using one single process.
The assessment of CHP unit projects involves both technical and economic aspects. The former includes a feasibility study, which mainly consists in assessing the site’s heating and electricity consumption profiles. This will determine the type of CHP unit to be installed (and back-up heating system if expedient). The next steps involve the connection of the CHP unit to the gas network (or other fuel supply) and to the electric grid, as well as the power purchase agreement through which the plant owner can sell its electricity back to the grid when required.
Then comes the economic aspect, which is the second stage of this assessment. It consists in evaluating the cost of the overall project on one side, and its financial benefits on the other side.The ability of the CHP unit to match the site’s consumption profile may have an important impact on the project’s economics. The electricity consumed from a CHP unit can be compared directly with retail prices, whereas electricity sent back to the grid is only sold at wholesale price, representing about one third of the retail price.
