Nearpod allows teachers to create interactive presentations and share them with students on iPads. Presentations must be created on a computer by accessing the Nearpod website and clicking "New Presentation". Teachers can then customize their Nearpod Presentation (NPP) by adding content, rearranging slides, and publishing it. Once published, teachers can launch the NPP on their iPad and students can join using a provided PIN to interact with the presentation controlled by the teacher. Nearpod also offers reports, a store of existing NPPs, tutorials, and webinars to help teachers get started.

This is meant to be an entertaining and non-boring presentation about Texas State University's tenure in Second Life 2006-2013. The copy uploaded here is meant as a backup for those with less than perfect internet connectivity in SL. We will be presenting this material as a part of the Second Life 10th Birthday events on June 19th at 2-3pm SLT (Pacific) at the Auditorium. PLEASE NOTE: We intended this to be a fun presentation. Target self-perceptions to help kids with healthy weight loss: study The study found that many kids underestimate their weight problems if they have one, but kids who accurately perceive themselves as overweight or obese are more likely to try losing weight. Additionally, healthy-weight kids who overestimate their weight are more likely to diet. The study suggests getting kids and parents to accurately perceive a child's body weight is important for promoting healthy behaviors. Based on physical exams and BMI calculations of over 2,500 kids ages 8-15, more than a quarter of parents and kids underestimated their weight class, while less than 3% overestimated. Accurately perceiving overweight status appears to drive weight loss efforts in children.
