Nigeria is an oil producing nation which have been relying heavily on oil revenue for its economic well being. Oil depletes and its price can crash making dependence on oil as a mono means for the country’s future futile. Information and communication technology (ICT) on the other hand has impacted the economic growth of various nations such as India. ICT seems to be a key factor in stimulating the development of a country’s productivity across most sectors of the economy and ensuring global competiveness and a move to a New Economy. This Paper examines if a causal relationship exists between ICT and economic wellbeing (GCI) and if ICT can offer a way forward for Nigeria to move from oil based to service and product based economy. The paper also conducts an empirical analysis to find out if oil producing nations experience better growth against ICT innovative nations using 10 countries. The results of the analysis support the believe that ICT led development and of the existence of a causal link between ICT and economic growth and non-existence of a causal link between oil production alone and economic development.

This work aimed to develop of web-based job fair information system. The methods used in this work consists of collecting data method, and software development method. Collecting data method using observations, interview, and literature study. Software development method using waterfall model comprising the steps of requirements, specfification and design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance. The results of this work is software web-based information system provided a job information, registration, and test schedule information.

Development of Web-based Job Fair Information System

The absence of a common approach for design and development of Web-based CAD/CAM systems is associated with increased risks and challenges. To overcome them and facilitate successful implementation of this kind of software within the commercial environment, a systematic approach is required that will ensure robustness, effectiveness, usability and ease of maintenance of these applications. This research establishes a methodology for creating Web-based CAD/CAM software systems, which will help develop complex Webbased CAD/CAM systems to industrial quality standards in a time and cost effective manner. The crucial parts of the methodology are a novel project development model facilitating architecture optimisation early in the project and a novel approach for planning based on time reserve management and task prioritisation

A Methodology for Developing Web-based CAD/CAM systems

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) consists of very large number of sensor nodes which are deployed close to the area which is to be monitored so as to sense various environmental conditions. WSN is a data-driven network which produces large amount of data and also sensor nodes are energy-limited devices and their energy consumption is mainly associated with data routing. Therefore it is necessary to perform redundant data aggregation so as to save energy. In this work data aggregation is achieved with the help of two key approaches namely Clustering approach and In-network data aggregation. These two approaches help to save energy and thereby increasing the lifetime of the network. The proposed work has some key features like reliable cluster formation, high data aggregation rate, priority of packets, minimized overhead, multiple routes, reduced energy consumption which enhance the network lifetime. The performance evaluation of the proposed approach is carried out using Network Simulator- version 2

A Reliable Routing Technique for Wireless Sensor Networks

In present-day time, most of the associations are making use of web services for improved services to their clients. With the upturn in count of web users, there is a considerable hike in the web attacks. Thus, security becomes the dominant matter in web applications. The disparate kind of vulnerabilities resulted in the disparate types of attacks. The attackers may take benefit of these vulnerabilities and can misuse the data in the database. Study indicates that more than 80% of the web applications are vulnerable to cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks. XSS is one of the fatal attacks & it has been practiced over the maximum number of well-known search engines and social sites. In this paper, we have considered XSS attacks, its types and different methods employed to resist these attacks with their corresponding limitations. Additionally, we have discussed the proposed approach for countering XSS attack and how this approach is superior to others.

Prediction Model Using Web Usage Mining Techniques

Health care information systems are aimed at facilitating the smooth running and interoperability of the health care delivery processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness; however, the complexity, heterogeneity and diversity of the health care sector especially in Kenya poses serious challenges especially in relation to integration of the systems. There is a large disconnect between the public and private health care delivery systems characterized by fragmentation of services, locally within hospitals (among primary, secondary and tertiary health care settings) and across different health care centers. This research is aimed at examining the adoption of integrated healthcare information system in Nairobi County; Kenyatta National Hospital represents the public sector and The Mater Hospital the private sector. A sample size of 100 users on information system from the two hospitals picked from the primary secondary and tertiary levels were selected and questionnaires administered to them. Data was analyzed through descriptive statistics with the aid of SPSS. The results of the study indicated that there was a huge disparity between healthcare information system adoption in the public and private sectors with the private sector’s adoption being at an advanced stage. The major barriers to adoption including social political barriers, financial constraints and technical/technological barriers also presented.
