TECHNORAMA! Grade 6 Science and Math
assignment
MATH MAGIC
MATH AND BEAUTY
This is beautiful because it moves around using a magnet and a
magnetic ball and the magnet is probably programed using algebra.
This results in the ball moving around in the sand and constructing
beautiful shapes and patterns.
MATH IS INTERESTING
In this exhibit we could make water rise in some tubes and then see how
the water equally gets shared into the other tubes. This particular exhibit
is interesting because it reminds me of lakes when they have to much
water in them. As you can see in the video, we have set the water up as if
there were to much water in some lakes and a normal amount in the other
one’s. once we have left the water go, just like letting water go through a
damn, the water gets equally spilled into the other “lakes” which makes
the other water levels go up only a bit.
WATER, NATURE, CHAOS
This exhibit shows how mountains get shaped using
tectonic plates. You had to change where the vibration
vibrated and then the spread out land would come together
to shape a mountain(as you can see in the video).
MINDSCAPES
In this exhibit you need to relax to win! There were two oponents
with a head band staped to there head. I think the head band used
waves to see how many things were going on in you brain. There
was a ball in the middle of the table and if that ball would come to
you, you would be less calm than your opponent.
GASES-ONLY A BREATH BUT
POWERFUL
The experiment that stud out to me was when the scientists put out a
candle and then light a lighter above the smoke and the fire would
jump back down to the candle. The experiment worked like this: If
you put a candle out the wax vapor continues to rise for a short time.
The vapor then transport the flame back to the candle
