The thesis reviews literature showing firefighting culture can involve mistreatment of new recruits through hazing or pranks. This perpetuates a culture of incivility where disrespectful behaviors are accepted. The thesis will use surveys to examine if rates of workplace civility/incivility predict workgroup cohesion and turnover intention among firefighters. Rationales for uncivil behaviors will also be investigated as potential mechanisms for maintaining an incivility culture.

O presente trabalho de formatura estuda a viabilidade da criação de uma ferramenta computacional para automatizar o projeto de mecanismos de redução utilizados em veículos híbridos em paralelo, cuja transmissão seja continuamente variável (CVT). A automação de projeto estudada busca garantir flexibilidade de escolha entre diferentes mecanismos baseados em engrenagens planetárias, prover instruções para seleção adequada de motores elétricos e motores de combustão interna que assegurem condições de desempenho pré-estabelecidas, determinar os comportamentos de dinâmica longitudinal veicular e a dinâmica nos elementos rotativos, resultando no dimensionamento e seleção dos principais elementos de máquina, tais como engrenagens, eixos, mancais de rolamento e chavetas, que constituem o mecanismo de redução selecionado. Para tanto, o trabalho é fundamentado no estudo analítico completo das etapas de projeto das reduções, as quais delimitam um roteiro definido de projeto sobre o qual a ferramenta computacional é implementada. Abstract. The present graduation work studies the feasibility of creating a computational tool to automate the gearbox mechanisms design applied for parallel hybrid vehicles, whose transmission is known to be continuously variable (CVT). The studied project automation seeks to guarantee the flexibility of choice between different planetary gearset mechanisms, to provide instructions for suitable selection of electric motors and internal combustion engines that assure pre-established performance conditions, to determine the behavior of the vehicle longitudinal dynamics and rotating elements dynamics, in such way that returns the designing and selection of the main machinery elements, such as gears, shafts, bearings and parallel keys, which constitutes the chosen reduction mechanism. To achieve these objectives, the work is based over the complete analytic study of the steps to design the reduction, which delimits a defined project guide whereupon the computational tool is implemented.
