Technology as a tool

Editor's Notes

  • #5 If you say only the kids use it then you need to change that. You should be using it too. Technology should be seen as a way to enrich your classroom. It should not be seen as a hindrance. Technology is your friend. You probably are like zomg she has an iPad and she's using her phone to control the slide show aaahhh run for the hills!! But the reality is is that all that I am doing here all that i am going to show you is soooo easy any one can do it with a little patience, willingness to learn and a tiny bit of technology knowledge.
  • #9 Start your plans like you would your typical lesson plan-with your objective. Then research all the available options. You want to make the best informed decision that you can. Best places for this: Amazon, best buy actual product site- read the costumer reviews Make lists: pros and cons, initial cost, cost over time, how it will affect your teaching both positively and negatively How are you going to obtain your new equipment: do you need a fund raiser, is it coming out of your own pocket, are parents willing to chip in to cover the cost How can you show the impact of your new technology: monthly updates, classroom evidence- lesson plans, student use, displays- flow charts, graphs
