In constructing their film opening, the student used a variety of technologies to research, plan, produce, edit, and share their work. These included blogging platforms like Blogger to organize ideas and receive feedback, video sites like YouTube for research and tutorials, databases like IMDB for film research, and presentation tools like SlideShare and Prezi to showcase work. Surveys using Survey Monkey helped with audience research, and iMovie allowed editing and constructing the film. Cameras and camcorders were used to film raw footage and review shots. Through this process, the student learned how to effectively use these technologies at different stages of film production.

2. In the making of our film opening, I used a wide range of
different technologies in order to collect information,
present my work and to produce and edit our film opening.

3. Blogger
Blogger is a website founded by Google which
allows you to create your own blog. I used
Blogger to upload and display the ideas from my
group as well as the individual work I produced. I
posted the work at different stages to show
progress on the making of our film opening. It
also allowed me to track our ideas and have
them in an organised structure, therefore being
more accessible for teachers and colleagues to
give immediate feedback through commenting
on my posts. This technology was also ideal for
me to demonstrate my technical abilities.

4. YouTube
YouTube is a website which allows people to
upload a range of videos. Having access to this,
it allowed me to view clips similar to my film
opening but also films to help in my research.
YouTube also helped to find different ways of
editing films by searching tutorials. YouTube was
also very useful when researching different
sound files.

5. IMDB
IMDB is the Internet Movie Database (IMDb). It
is an online database of information related to
movies, television shows, actors, production
crew personnel, video games, fictional
characters featured in visual entertainment
media. This was a key source for my research
into others horror films where I could look
into institutional information, user ratings,
external reviews, user comments and viewing
trailers.

6. SlideShare
SlideShare is a website which allows you to
publicly or privately share presentations. This
was a key website throughout my project when
displaying my work on my blog. It was key that I
demonstrated my use of different technologies
therefore by using this website I could post
PowerPoint slides onto my blog as apposed to
word documents.

7. Scribd
Scribd is a document sharing website. To further
demonstrate my use of different technologies, I
used this website to upload any word
documents. Instead of displaying a large post
where you would have to scroll down the blog, it
compacts it, so it scrolls within the post itself. As
well as being practical for my blog is also
maintained a clear and tidy presentation.

8. Prezi
Prezi is a web-based presentation application
and storytelling tool that uses a single canvas
instead of traditional slides. I found that Prezi
was a really unique way to displayed a
presentation which allowed me to create my own
paths and transitions. Prezi allowed me to
display my work in a more interesting way as
apposed to a plain essay, for example.

9. Survey Monkey
Survey Monkey is an easy-to-use tool for the
creation of online surveys. I used Survey
Monkey to create a questionnaire to find out and
address the audience we wanted to target. This
method helped in saving the need of paper
hand-outs and made it easy for our respondents
to fill in as it’s an online survey.

10. iMovie
iMovie is a proprietary video editing software
application which allows Mac users to edit their own
home movies. Fortunately, a member of our group
owned a Mac therefore we had easy access to this
software. With the help of iMovie, our group could
successfully edit and construct our film during
production stages. We were able to edit, cut, paste, add,
split and adjust video clips. Also was able to add
transitions, recordings and sounds effects and other
sound files to help within the editing and production of
the film.

11. Cameras/Camcorders
In the pre-production stages I used a hand held still camera to
take photos of any locations and our planning to display on
the blog. We then used Camcorders to record our film
opening. These key items allowed me to review raw footage
immediately, improve specific shots and decide upon
different filming techniques. There are many functions that
were key to provide the best final outcome for example flash
light, zooming and different affects to suit the location, e.g.
being outside. From using this item I've learned how they
work starting from basics (turn on/off, etc..), but also in terms
of camera angles and shot positions, the use of zoom in and
out, self timer, colour balance, audio and effects (blur, black
and white, negative, etc).
