Team handball originated in Europe and became an official Olympic sport in 1972. The sport involves 7 players per side, plus a goalie, who can score by throwing the ball into their opponent's net. Games consist of two halves, with the average score being 26-21. Players are only allowed 3 steps and cannot stall possession of the ball. Fouls result in free throws for the opposing team.

5. Rules No stalling on possession No taking more than 3 steps Referee throw is basically a jump ball A free throw is when a player is awarded the ball where the foul takes place shooter has to keep 1 foot on court and can pass or shoot. On defense you can use your torso to obstruct.

6. Equipment The ball is like a miniature rubber volleyball. It can hurt a goalies hand so bad they are required to wear goalie gloves like in soccer but with more padding.
