This document is the final master's thesis project of Francesca Ferrante from the 2009-2010 Master's in Secondary Education program. The thesis explores the didactic uses of Web 2.0 technologies for teaching and learning. It begins with an introduction to Web 2.0 and its advantages over Web 1.0 for education. It then discusses how Web 2.0 aligns with constructivist learning theories and can be used to motivate students. The thesis also provides examples of using wikis, blogs, media sharing, and social bookmarking for educational purposes. It includes a case study experience using a wiki and concludes that Web 2.0 fosters collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking in learning.
