memorize a verse?
Why we teach memory verses in Sunday School?
1. An INSTRUCTION from God
Colossians 3:16a- “let the word of Christ dwell in
you richly in all wisdom…..”
Deuteronomy 11:18
“fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds;
tie them as symbol on your hands and bind them on
your foreheads
2. It provides GUIDANCE & WISDOM to children
Psalm 119:105- “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a
light on my path”
3. To KEEP them from SIN & TEMPTATION
Psalm 119:9-11
“How can a young person stay on the path of purity?
By living according to your word. I seek you with all
my heart; do not let me stray from your commands.
I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not
sin against you”
How to Teach Memory Verse?

Introduce the whole verse before you
begin explaining parts of the verse
Explain difficult words
