Tata Steel implemented SAP ERP in 1997 at its joint venture Tata Ryerson to manage inventory, supply chain, and sales. The ERP implementation improved inventory management, reduced costs, and enabled faster decision making and customer updates. However, initial issues included inconsistent data and some missing information due to a lack of integrity checks.
