Academic librarians at UTM support teaching and research by curating
reference collections, supporting staff and students with research,
administering digital resources and institutional repositories, and
delivering information literacy programs. They also manage museum
operations, conserve institutional knowledge, conduct community
outreach, and work on academic initiatives. Educating the public about
these important functions is essential for promoting a more accurate

Today, librarians at public libraries are no longer merely custodians
of books. Their roles extend far beyond the walls of the library. In
this era of artificial intelligence and digital technology, librarians
must adapt to meet the evolving needs of their users. They serve as
educators, technologists, community leaders, and advocates,
playing a crucial role in fostering informed, inclusive, and resilient
communities.
