My teaching philosophy is grounded on the firm belief that everyone is
gifted in his/her individual strenght and fashion; therefore my approach to
teaching in the field of music is based on a hands-on and ear-open attitude
towards the task at hand, and - wether it is in a classroom setting, a
rehearsal, or a one to one lesson - , to enable and encourage each
individual student to engage in a lifelong process of discovery.
Furthermore, once this process of discovery both in and through music has
begun, - it shall lead to a deeper understanding of oneself, life and
humanity as a whole.
I would be very happy to discuss the numerous ways I have engaged and
inspired students of any age, - but the essence and merit I draw from
teaching is the fact that I am just as exposed to the same music and
theoretical facts as they are, only with the slight advantage of me being
able to also see the whole picture, which allows me to e.g. put the details
like intervals or chord progression in context and to discuss the matters of
musical thinking and efficiency in music!
