This document provides an overview of a 2-year media studies course. In the first year, students will analyze print advertisements and design their own ad. They will then compare film promotion methods across media platforms. The second year focuses on creating a 3-minute music video, research folder, and exam. Key concepts covered are media language, institution, audience, and representation. These concepts are applied to analyze and create advertisements. Students participate in an activity called "The Ad Game" that has them design an advert based on assigned people, products, and media outlets.
Conference Poster: Discrete Symmetries of Symmetric Hypergraph StatesChase Yetter
This document discusses discrete symmetries of symmetric hypergraph states. Hypergraph states are a generalization of graph states that are useful for quantum error correction and computation. The author studied symmetries of hypergraph states that are invariant under qubit permutation. Using computer searches and Bloch sphere visualization, several families of states with particular symmetries were identified, including theorems for states with Y⊗n and X⊗n symmetries and conjectures for additional families. The author believes proofs have been developed for the conjectures and it would be ideal to prove certain symmetries only occur for the identified families.

Groupon started in 2008 with a single daily deal in Chicago and a Ruby on Rails architecture. By 2013, it had spread to over 40 countries with over 40 million active customers and multiple acquisitions. Its architecture had also expanded and included services running on Java and Rails. In 2013, Groupon introduced iTier, a Node.js framework to dismantle monoliths and move to a collection of front-end applications using common services. Node.js was chosen for its non-blocking I/O, ability to use JavaScript on both front-end and back-end, and large ecosystem of libraries. By 2015, Groupon's front-end was composed of over 100 Node apps that could scale independently and
My mother only had one eye, which embarrassed me as a child. I hated her for it and wished she would disappear. As an adult, I was successful and happy with my family until my mother visited after many years. My children laughed at her appearance, which caused me to angrily scream at her to leave. My mother quietly apologized and left, revealing in a later letter that she had passed away.
This document provides an overview of a youth ministry training seminar focused on being real in ministry. It discusses key concepts like the incarnation of Jesus entering human culture and being in solidarity with humanity rather than using relationships to influence others. It examines how culture has changed significantly from the past to the present. The document emphasizes building relationships through being place-sharers in the lives of teens and avoiding the temptation to use relationships for influence.
