Java exceptions allow programs to handle errors and unexpected events gracefully. There are two main types of exceptions: checked exceptions which are normal errors that can occur during execution, and runtime exceptions which are errors that could have been avoided. Checked exceptions must be handled with try/catch blocks, while runtime exceptions do not require handling. Exceptions can be generated from method calls if declared in the method signature, from runtime errors like null pointers, or can be manually thrown with a throw statement.
Distributed Video Coding (DVC) has become increasingly popular in recent times among the researchers in video coding due to its attractive and promising features. DVC primarily has a modified complexity balance between the encoder and decoder, in contrast to conventional video codecs. However, Most of the reported DVC schemes have a high time-delay in decoder which hinders its practical application in real-time systems. In this work, we focus on speed up the Side Information(SI) generation module in DVC, which is a major function in the DVC coding algorithm and one of the time-consuming factor at the decoder. By applied it through Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA) based on General-Purpose Graphics Processing Unit (GPGPU), the experimental results show that a considerable speedup can be obtained by using the proposed parallelized SI generation algorithm.

The document discusses flat panel televisions in India. It notes that the market is rapidly shifting from CRT to flat panel displays like LCDs, with LCD share expected to reach 10% by 2010. Flat panel TVs have advantages over traditional TVs like being lighter, thinner, and occupying less space while mounted on a wall. LCD TVs are generally more suitable for static images while plasma TVs have better colors and blacks, though LCDs are more energy efficient. Major manufacturers of flat panel TVs include Samsung, Sony, and LG. The document also discusses factors influencing consumers' purchase decisions and strategies manufacturers can use to penetrate the market.

The document discusses the opportunities and challenges of implementing ISO 9001:2015 for quality management. Some key challenges include lack of top management commitment, employee resistance to change, and insufficient resources. Two crucial factors for successful implementation are top management involvement and effectively engaging employees. While standards can benefit businesses by improving quality, consistency and compliance, they also require organizational knowledge management. The new ISO 9001:2015 standard emphasizes determining, developing and evaluating organizational knowledge. Quality management practices like continuous improvement, statistical quality control and customer satisfaction management can enable knowledge creation within organizations.
