This document discusses new features and potential issues developers may face when using ECMAScript 2015 (ES6). It provides tips and traps for arrow functions, classes, block scoping, promises, and more. It emphasizes that while ES6 brings many improvements, browser support still needs to catch up and transpilers have performance limitations. The document concludes by urging developers to be aware of ReferenceErrors caused by issues like the temporal dead zone and use of 'const'.
The student used several new media technologies in their construction and research of a film project. They used the blogging platform Blogger to document their research and planning process. They uploaded video clips and drafts of their trailer to YouTube to gather feedback and embed in blog posts. Facebook was used to gather audience feedback through polls and comments. Other tools mentioned include Apple software like iMovie and Final Cut Pro for video editing, as well as Adobe Photoshop for image editing. The student found Blogger, YouTube and Facebook especially useful for sharing their work and collaborating with others online throughout the project.
If you want to learn JavaScript nowadays, you will normally go to W3Schools, MDN, or Codecademy, start with a simple "helloWorld()" tutorial and build up from there. Here is an alternative to this method of learning the intricacies of an otherwise cool language: take a junior programmer coming from the Java/ Python/ C++ world, give him an existing NodeJS/ MongoDB/ Redis/ Web Sockets/ single-page HTML5 Web application, and one month to add new major features to it. Our junior does not know JavaScript, but is in love with static analysis/ linting tools, and thinks of using JSLint in order to both learn the language and complete his tasks in time with a minimal number of bugs. As this is the way in which I learned JavaScript, I will present you my experience, including the fact that the programmers before me had little idea of how the language actually works, what lessons I was (self-)taught in the process, and how this knowledge and some practices stuck with me. While this was an unconventional learning experience, I believe that the method can be quite efficient, maybe not for first-year Computer Science students, but for programmers coming from other language realms.
This document provides guidance on interview preparation and etiquette. It covers topics such as dress code, attitude, manners, follow up communication, dining etiquette, social etiquette, and conversation skills. For interviews, it recommends dressing professionally and conservatively. Good attitude, manners, and follow up are emphasized. Dining etiquette covers proper place setting, table manners, and tipping. Social etiquette focuses on politeness, eye contact, and appropriate language in conversations.
This document provides a detailed summary of a family's summer vacation trip that included visits to Brazil, the Amazon Rainforest, and Jericoacoara Beach in Brazil. Some of the key experiences described include a guided hike around Iguazu Falls where they saw Devil's Throat waterfall, piranha fishing and swimming in the Negro River in the Amazon, watching the sunrise over 185 islands in the Amazon delta, interacting with pink river dolphins, and participating in activities like windsurfing, sand buggy tours, and sand surfing at Jericoacoara Beach. The document captures the variety of sights, activities, transportation and accommodations during their travels through journal-style recounting of each day's experiences.
What holds you from building that world-changing idea you always dreamed about? Time, money, knowledge? We were just like you before entering a 48-hour hackathon with 1200 teams from around the world competing to build the next big thing. And now, we will show you that with the right tools, workflows and mindset you can also build a fully-working app in less than those 48 hours (which is more than a working week by the way).
