LCD displays have replaced CRT displays as the most common computer monitor due to their thinner design, lower energy usage, and lack of radiation emissions. While CRT displays were better for tasks requiring precise control like graphics design, LCD displays now offer comparable or better screen quality at lower prices and have become the standard. Modern LCD monitors integrate all components like processors onto a single circuit board or chip to make the displays thinner and more energy efficient.
