How and Why to Start Sketchnoting, UX Week 2012Veronica Erb
Sketchnoting is like notetaking, but with more flair and more focus. Hand lettering and illustrations provide the flair; focus provides you the time to include the flair. Besides keeping you engaged during talks, visual notetaking makes it easier to retain what you’ve heard and share it later. This session describes a process that will help you create sketchnotes within the time constraints of the presentation or meeting you are recording.

UX Research in the Real World: Stories from Rwanda (MidwestUX 2011)Veronica Erb
In June 2010, I went to Rwanda to do user experience research for a website built for teachers. On Saturday, April 9, 2011, I gave this presentation at Midwest UX.
Develop and commercialize a propietary real-time location system (RTLS) using standard protocols to remotely monitor and control a wide variety of assets within defined wireless networks.
Zia’s vision is to be the leading innovative RTLS provider in the Retail, Security, Construction, Health Care, Transportation, and other target markets where asset tracking and monitoring is critical.
Why and How to Start Sketchnoting, IA Summit 2012Veronica Erb
When you attend a presentation, what do you do? Sit quietly and listen? Scribble notes? Live tweet? Get distracted by your smartphone? Take photos with a camera that has a surprisingly loud shutter effect?
There's yet another option: sketchnote.

This presentation covers the process I use to create live sketchnotes and two big reasons for UXers to start sketchnoting.
