Direct Relief partnered with clinics nationwide to distribute 500,000 asthma inhalers donated by a pharmaceutical company to low-income asthma patients. This was in response to an FDA ban on older inhaler types. Over 850 clinics received inhalers through the program to help patients transition easily. Direct Relief also provides ongoing support to safety net clinics treating uninsured patients in the US, totaling over $64 million since 2003.
