Auto-Enrolment Seminar
On the 11th of February, Navigator held a seminar at the Belmont Hotel in Banbridge
with the aim of educating local business owners on Auto – Enrolment. Geoff Clarke
from Xafinity and Iain Ferguson from the Workers Pension Trust were in attendance
to offer expert advice on the subject. Geoff spoke about the rules and regulations
surrounding Auto-Enrolment, the employer’s obligations and how to implement
them. Iain then spoke about the role of the Workers Pension Trust and how it
operates.
Sponsorship Deal
At the start of the season,
Navigator became proud
sponsors of Kilkeel Hockey
Club. The 2XI team’s kit is
sponsored by the company,
and Navigator are delighted
to be able to support a local
club in the community. We
would like to wish the
teams all the best for the
remainder of the season.
Investment issues
As many of you will have
noticed, over the last 6
months the markets have
been fairly poor. We are
aware that this can be a
worry to some, but we
would like to reiterate that
the markets behave in a
cyclical fashion, and that
the rise and fall are all part
of the cycle. In fact, they
are beginning to level out as
we speak, and we are
hopeful that this will
continue.
Navigator were
delighted to host a
meeting of the EBIS
group earlier in the
year. The EBIS group
meets regularly to
discuss the latest
thinking in
investment research
and how this might
help their clients,
and to share ideas
about best practice
in financial planning.

2. Another new addition…
In January, Mark Buchanan came on board the Navigator team as a new
Financial Planning Analyst. We asked him a few questions about how he is
getting on.
Q1 - What do you enjoy about Financial Planning?
As I came straight from school, I didn't know much about financial planning. Since
joining Navigator every day is a learning curve for me, which is more enjoyable
than you'd think.
Q2 – What is it like to work for Navigator?
Working for Navigator is key experience that cannot be bought, and I have
learned that planning and organisation is key when it comes to dealing with
money. If you are able to manage your finances/money then it will help you to
live a life you can afford.
Q3 - What are your plans for the future?
My plans for the future are still unknown: I am currently on a gap year between
school and University. Working for Navigator has helped me to reach a decision to
continue in the maths/finance route in life.
