Guest speakers from the Washington Wizards organization spoke to students about career opportunities in professional sports such as management roles. Students then attended a basketball game where they had front row seats and met the mascot and cheerleaders. The annual event exposes interested students to careers in both basketball and business operations through speakers and a college fair.

One highlight of the trip was a performance by G-man, the team mascot, who impressed the audience with his acrobatic stunts, but more importantly, spoke about how he became involved in FBLA and DECA in high school and later owned his own business, which led to his current position with the Wizards.

10. The annual Sports Career Day focuses on exposing interested students to career opportunities within professional sports. Guest speakers from both the basketball and business side of the Wizards organization speak directly to the students about their professional experiences and offer insight for those interested in working in sports. The Wizards also invite representatives from many of the top colleges and universities in the area to come to and participate in a large college fair on the Verizon Center concourse after the speaker session.
