This study aims to evaluate the impact of a clinical surveillance decision support software on optimizing pharmacy-driven antimicrobial stewardship interventions at a 150-bed rural hospital. The study uses a quasi-experimental pre-post design, comparing the number of interventions made by pharmacists in the 12 months before and 12 months after implementing rules in the Sentri7 software. Pharmacists will receive alerts for potential intervention opportunities identified by the rules and document actions in the software. The rules focus on opportunities for de-escalation of broad-spectrum antibiotics and resolving drug-bug mismatches. The study expects to show an increase in stewardship interventions and demonstrate how decision support can help optimize pharmacist efforts, especially important as hospitals work to meet new
