Harvest Automation
Target
• Harvesting is not easy work for machines – they should be gentle
enough not to damage fruits and vegetables.
• The robot must be able to harvest from multiple trees
• The robot must also carry a storage for carrying harvested
fruit/vegetables
• Two students are needed to handle this project
Task
• Student 1: must be able to apply image processing to differentiate
fruit from the tree. Also to differentiate ripe fruit from unripe fruit
• Student 2: must be able to create robot which can move to a certain
direction, and has a robot arm to pick the ripe fruit/vegetables
Note: the robot must work automatically and can be monitored from
distance
