Abstract- A conceptual history of the origins and development of money, - - 
following the logical sequence from barter- primitive money- coined- the gold standard- bank money- ending with new forms of money. Espousing each type of ‘monies’ functionalities and ultimately demonstrating its shortcomings, with the hope of understanding money and its economic influence.
