The slide test is a simple physical examination used to evaluate joint function and mobility. To perform the test, the clinician passively moves the patient's arm from a flexed position to full extension while sliding the hand down the thigh. Any pain, catching, or limitation of motion during the maneuver may indicate an underlying condition affecting the shoulder or elbow.
