This document introduces a series aimed at helping scientists communicate more effectively in English. It discusses how written papers and oral presentations are important for scientific productivity and knowledge sharing. The series includes six units that provide guidance on writing scientific papers, correspondence, giving oral presentations, interacting at conferences, and communicating in the classroom. While developed for non-native English speakers, the advice is also useful for native speakers. Effective communication is important for scientists to disseminate their work and build relationships with colleagues.
