Nashville
Travel Uniform: I like to
be comfortable but still look
stylish. I usually wear jeans
by J Brand or Rag & Bone and
a comfy T-shirt by J.Crew or
James Perse. Scarfs can double
as a wrap if it’s chilly.
Essential Beauty Items:
I like the Oribe Dry Texturizing
Spray. It adds volume and
texture between washes. I
love NARS lip gloss, especially
Baby Doll. It’s a nude with a
little pink, and I love the way
it feels.
Packing: I like to pack light
and carry on if it’s a short trip.
I’ve had this blue leopard print
Betsey Johnson bag for 17
years, and I can fit so much
stuff in there!
Favorite Destinations:
I love Los Angeles because it
usually has great weather and
we have lots of friends there.
We took a family vacation
to Italy a few years ago, and
that was my favorite vacation
so far. I also love Nashville
because it means I’m home!

Cooking Classes
With a 20-year career in the country music industry and 18 million albums sold, chart-topper
Martina McBride is always on the go. She’s on tour this month, with stops in Philadelphia,
Phoenix, LA and elsewhere, and early next month she’ll release her latest album,
Everlasting—a collection of covers from the American songbook that allows the powerhouse
vocalist to flex her soul, R & B and rock muscles. When she’s not at home in Nashville with
her husband and three daughters, here’s how the country star likes to travel. —Anya Britzius

In-Flight Movies/Shows: My favorite show on
television right now is Parenthood on NBC. I’m
usually working Thursday nights, so I love to watch
Netflix or Hulu and catch up on what I missed. I
like to watch movies on international flights, but I
learned my lesson not to watch sad movies after
crying all the way through P.S. I Love You.
In-Flight Reading: I always grab
decorating or food magazines,
such as House Beautiful and
Bon Appétit. I love novels and
once read The Perks of Being a
Wallflower on a flight from New
York to Los Angeles.
