After dinner, they opened gifts and spent time talking and watching others open their presents. For New Year's Eve, the author again spent it in Cuenca, having dinner which was less elaborate than Christmas, and afterwards sometimes singing carols. At midnight when eating grapes to welcome the new year, they would listen for the bells ringing and then celebrate at an uncle's house.

Christmas Day and New Year's Eve
Christmas day I spent with all family from my mother in Cuenca.
Every day is like any other but the night is completely different, it's the best dinner
of the year and the entire dining room is Christmas decoration. The dinner is very
long and mostly eat food over Christmas.
After dinner we usually talk a while and then we will open Christmas gifts.We are a
little time talking and watching the gifts of others.
New Year's Eve also spent in Cuenca. The dinner this worked but not as much as
Christmas day.
When we finished dinner sometimes when i sing carols.When they eat the grapes have
sung the bells, we welcome i usually go up to my uncles house to celebrate.
And so just the holidays
