A. Guarding Operation: Checking of Guards,
giving duty to guards.
B. Security Document: Should know about

C. Site Instructions– Site layout- perimeter,
details of entry, exit and emergency exits;
work shifts; guard posts, deployment of
security and surveillance equipment;
patrolling and number of personnel needed
for security duties
D. Assessment of Operational
Effectiveness – Thorough pre-shift briefing
and checking, surprise checks, patrolling,
mock-drills and rehearsals
E. Faults/ Malfunctions in Equipment –
Alarms, non-functioning of equipment,
errors and erratic output
F. Safe Handling of Firearms – Ensure an
armed security guard, if provided with the
detail observes laid down safety and
security norms with regard to handling of
firearms
G. Leadership and Supervision– Welfare,
training and motivation, leading by personal
example, impartiality, honest reporting and
punctuality
Performance Criteria of
Supervisor
1. He should start the shift as per give
instruction.
2. Receive & implement instruction from
unit supervisors.
3. Receive & understand shift report
from out going supervisor.
4. Take attendance & record / report of
shortage
5. Proper duty roster of shift and give
duties to guard as assigned work.
6. Deploy guard with required
instrument/ equipment in required site
location.
7. Make procedure to collect intelligence
and information.
8. Command & control guard duties &
functioning.
9. Maintain key control, personnel
control for the unit.
10. Ensure coordination with EHS,
control room Personnels.
11. Train security guards on different job
profile.
12. Arrange training form qualified
trainer after under standing the gap.
13. Maintain all document as per
security responsibility.
14. Conduct various drills / mock drills
as per company policy.
15. Keep communication with guards,
unit security incharge & security team.
16. Keep the turnout, morale of the unit
on higher side.
17. Prepare the shift report with all facts
and hand over to incoming shift
supervisor explain point in detail.

equipment & guard for particular
duty.
3. Anticipate risks/ threats and take
corrective action.
4. Periodically check the operational
fitness of the security equipments.

risk / threat of unit.
6. Train self and staff on the available
resourses.
Dealing with Emergencies
1. Under stand the disaster plan and
role of security.
2. Work as team with unit personnel.
3. Carry out mock drill on regular basis
on various emergencies.
4. Anticipate emergencies in unit.
5. Should know the emergency
numbers.
6. Secure the assets of unit in case of
emergency.
7. Evaluate the unit if need arises.
8. Guide the emergency team in unit
and brief them of emergency.
9. Report and record the incident.
10. Coordinate and cooperate with
Govt. authorities i.e. police, fire
brigade, factory inspector, labour
offices etc.
Welfare & Administration of
Personnel.
1. Talk to security company and give
regular feed back about manpower, unit
activity, incident etc.
2. Know the personal details of unit
security tea.
3. Know the details of shift OT, leave,
training of your unit security personnel.
4. Listen to all guards and note their
grievances. Try to resolve the issue at
unit level. If not possible then refer to
company & follow up.
5. Motivate team constantly.
6. Keep the morale of team high by
regular interaction.
7. Be impartial in all dealing.
8. Nominate staff for reward / promotion
and gift.
9. Ensure health and safety of staff all
time. Ensure they follow all rules.
