To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Laken Ann Wright and I am writing this application for a scholarship to
assist me throughout my time studying secondary education at East Tennessee State
University.
Being granted the chance to study further in my field of education at ETSU is an
unbelievable opportunity for my educational purposes and the way I intend to take
advantage of this chance wholeheartedly without hesitation. Being the hard-working
student, I have consistently proven throughout my high school career and previous
working experience then when presented with an opportunity I will make every effort to
best represent not only myself but those who have awarded me a chance to demonstrate
such. This is apparent in my willingness to further my education at ETSU. Despite
financial hardship I have always done what is necessary to succeed within each task that I
am given. This includes being an employee at American Eagle Outfitters as well as two
solid years of work at Jersey Mike subs. Throughout my academic career I balanced two
jobs, being a three-year varsity cheerleader and maintaining a solid 3.85 GPA. It is
evident my study commitments and hard work were stepping stones in helping me reach
my goal of having the ability to go to ETSU and to pay the very considerable fees
required to enjoy the opportunity to study secondary education.
