Four years ago, Eva and colleagues created six-week entrepreneurial "boot camps" called SEED for small groups of motivated students. The boot camps focused on self-learning, exploration, and experiential action rather than traditional courses. They aimed to create a collaborative rather than competitive environment using design thinking and lean business principles. Surveys found that after the boot camps, participants' perceived entrepreneurial ability and intent improved, and more wanted to undertake further entrepreneurial study. Eva says the program showed people how to think more broadly and adapt to changing employment situations where self-employment will become more common.
The document discusses different types of learning:
1) Memoristic learning involves repetition to remember facts and concepts but the knowledge is often forgotten.
2) Receptive learning occurs when students receive content from the teacher, materials, or media to internalize.
3) Learning by discovery involves students discovering material themselves before incorporating it into their knowledge.
4) Meaningful learning occurs when tasks are meaningfully interrelated and the student decides to learn that way.
5) Maintenance learning is the acquisition of fixed criteria, methods and rules to address familiar recurring situations.

Odontogenic and Nonodontogenic Tumors of the JawsAndres Cardona
This document discusses odontogenic tumors of the jaw. It begins by stating that these rare tumors may derive from tooth-forming elements in the jaws. More primitive dental structures tend to be more aggressive, while more mature tissues are less aggressive. The vast majority are benign or locally aggressive, with few malignant variants. Odontogenic tumors are classified based on their presumed tissue of origin - epithelial, mesenchymal, or mixed. The document then focuses on specific benign epithelial odontogenic tumors of the jaw, including ameloblastomas (solid, cystic, peripheral types), calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumors, and adenomatoid odontogenic tumors.
This document discusses the biocompatibility of dental materials. It describes the composition and properties of enamel, dentin, pulp, and bone. It discusses how dental materials interact with these tissues, including concepts like permeability, osseointegration, and biocompatibility. Tests used to measure biocompatibility are outlined, including in vitro cytotoxicity tests, mutagenesis assays, animal implantation tests, and clinical usage tests. Standards that regulate the measurement of biocompatibility from organizations like ANSI and ISO are also mentioned.
