 Terraria is a action rpg indie game. It was released by
the game studio re-logic. The game uses
exploration, crafting, building structures, and combat
  with many different creatures.
 Released on may 16 2011, it had sold about 50,000
copies within the first day of release, and it peaked to
17,000 players online at the same time on the first day.
 During the first week 200,000 copies of the game were
sold making it the top selling game on steam for the first
week. This was ahead of games such as witcher 2, and
portal 2, it had eventually dropped to the number 2
spot by the end of the 6th day of release.
 Terraria is known for its similarity to
  minecraft and adventure/exploration
  games such as Metroid.
 Normal gameplay features, day and
  night cycles, aggressive nocturnal
attackers such as zombies and floating
  eyeballs, world building elements, and
  character advancement.
 The game has a tile base 16-bit graphic
2d sprite similarly to the SNES.
 At the start of the game players have a
copper; pickaxe, axe, and sword. They
start with 5 hearts which is equal to
  100hp.
 When you first spawn in the new world
an npc called the guide will appear and
explain the basics of the game.
 Once the players first house has been
built the npc will move into the first free
  room.
 At night different creatures spawn and
  constantly attack the player until
morning. At certain areas could contain
stronger monsters, such as giant worms
and hornets. As you travel deeper the
enemies get stronger and give off better
  loot.
 Players may also summon powerful boss
monsters such as the eye of cthulu or the
  eater of worlds.
 Players can attract NPC’s to occupy structures or rooms that
they have built, including the merchant. Players may then
buy weapons and armour with coins gained by defeating
monsters. Each map also contains generated biomes with
unique monsters and structures such as, the underworld, the
corruption, deserts, and jungles above or below ground.
 Random events may occur during gameplay such as a blood
moon, which increases the number of monsters out at night
and allows some to enter the players structures, and also the
goblin invasion, which sends a goblin army to march from
one or both ends of the world and lay siege on the players
home, meteorites may fall randomly during gameplay
allowing the player to mine meteorite ore and create
    weapons and armour.
 The player starts out with a copper
pickaxe, copper axe, and a copper
short sword which can be use to attack
monsters, mine ores stone and dirt, and
collect wood. The correct tool must be
used to collect resources and ores that
can be smelted in a furnace to make
bars. The better tools are used to mine
better ores and cut trees quicker.
 Items can be made by gathering resources
and standing by the right crafting station, such
as a workbench or a furnace. As long as the
ingredients are present new items can be
crafted just by clicking on them.
 There are several types of crafting stations with
the most common one being a workbench.
throughout gameplay the player will discover
new crafting station recipes depending on the
ingredients they obtain. The fun of terraria
crafting is figuring out which station allows the
    creation of which items.
