SUBJECT: Diverse Podcast Proposal for NBC Sports Washington
You are the founder, chairman, principial owner and Chief Executive Officer of
Monumental Sports and Entertainment. You are also a nationally recognized investor,
entrepreneur, and philanthropist in the Washington, D.C. area. As a co-founder and
partner at Revolution Growth, you and your partners typically invest $25 to $50 million
per deal to speed up capital investments in businesses each year.
Background and Purpose
The Washington D.C. area is home to a diverse community. For more than 20 years there
has only been one constant mainstream podcast in Washington D.C., The Sports Junkies.
According to 106.7 The Fan, the Sport Junkies have owned D.C. sports radio by covering
the Washington Football Team, Nationals, Capitals, and Wizards for the last 20 years.
The Sports Junkies is a podcast hosted by 4 Caucasian males in Washington D.C. and has
been on the air since 1996.Washington D.C. needs a new and diverse podcast that is
hosted by individuals of different ethnicities and that can help D.C. sports fans better
relate to their favorite teams.
Proposed Plan of Action
Living in the Washington D.C. area I find there are not many podcasts that represent
what it is like to be a D.C. sports fan. I would like to create a sports podcast with a
diverse group of 4 podcast hosts. The name of my podcast will be Capital Sports. The
podcast will air every day from noon to 4pm on local radio and streaming services such
as Spotify and Audacy. Having a diverse group of podcast hosts will provide a different
point of view on local sports news and help the community better relate to their favorite
D.C. sports teams. The diverse podcast would bring a bigger audience not only to the
podcast but to all professional sports teams in Washington, D.C. area.

2022
Have recording and editing equipment setup in studio- February 5, 2022 to February 12,

Develop marketing campaign- February 16, 2022 to March 1, 2022
Launch marketing campaign- March 10, 2022 to June 10, 2022
Air first episode- June 25, 2022
