Rockwell was born Kennedy William Gordy in Detroit, Michigan in 1964. He is the son of Motown founder Berry Gordy and signed with Motown Records. Rockwell's biggest hit was 1984's "Somebody's Watching Me", which featured Michael Jackson as a guest singer and background vocals by Jermaine Jackson. The song reached #2 on the Billboard charts. Rockwell released three albums between 1985-1986 but did not achieve the same level of success as his debut single.
