This document discusses a visual database and workflow management tool called ApptiveGrid. It allows users to define data models and flows visually without code. Key features include defining models and columns, filtering and sorting data, running workflow engines, and defining conditional flows that can make external calls or send emails. The tool uses a domain-specific language called ApptiveScript that understands column types and generates database queries from visual filters. ApptiveScript can also be executed on the frontend for auto-completion and sent to the backend where it is parsed and used as a database predicate to filter objects efficiently.

The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community.
