even if the track count is slightly
higher.

What Makes This an LP?
Happier Than Ever is considered an LP

HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: “Making the Splatter
Paint CDs” Promotional Item
What It Is:
This is a promotional CD design / collector item
created for Billie Eilish’s 2024 album HIT ME HARD
AND SOFT.
These splatter-style CDs were part of a creative
promo strategy where different colored paint-
splatter designs were released to highlight the
album’s aesthetic and give fans collectible versions.
Why It Counts as SWAG:
SWAG (“Stuff We All Get”) refers to free or
promotional items used to market an artist or
release.
The splatter-paint CD versions function as
promotional merchandise because:
• They were distributed and advertised as limited-
edition promotional designs.
• They helped build hype and awareness for the
album rollout.
• Music retailers and fans showcased them as part

8. Reflection
I would definitely use Wax N Facts for a local indie artist’s album
release.
Here’s what I’d do:
•Consign their album so local customers can discover them.
•Host an in-store listening event aligned with a weekend or RSD.
•Leave SWAG or sampler CDs near the register.
•Promote through their social media using local ATL hashtags.
•Create a mini vinyl signing session to draw fans into the store.
Wax N Facts is well-known in the Atlanta indie scene and would be
an ideal partner.
